The “Après Vous” project is a collective project on collective memory. A comment on personal and family images that end up in the garbage, in porch stalls and many times in foreign hands. Orphan images, adopted images, away from their environment, their references, their historicity. Are the pictures that are lost or are the stories lost? For the image that changes hands, it is the continuation of its history multiplied by the fantasy of its new owner and its social cycle to which it exposes it. Without knowing the criteria, but surely with a belonging to luck, some images are saved, they are given the opportunity for a second (who knows perhaps multiple) life. A different position – use waiting for it. In “Après Vous” some of the images found in our hands (in the aforementioned way), within our narrow circle became a matter of discussion, laughter, reflection and eventually found a place in the brace of our beloved things. Being aware of our debt in them, we take them out of oblivion, not exposing them as finds or as aesthetic objects but as a protagonist at the great celebration of their “Renaissance”. The space is appropriate. The juncture appropriate: all around we are people we consume pictures. But we will not taste them or we will consume them, as desired and took place. The feast’s snapshot should last … to be consumed as a project.
