Κόντρα στην τάση της εποχής, για μια πιο οικολογική – eco friendly – σκέψη, συμπεριφορά και συνείδηση, οι For cancel, εστιάζουν ξεχωριστά και αθροιστικά στις έννοιες του πλαστικού και της αθανασίας και δημιουργούν το έργο ‘Go plastic! Be immortal!’.

Το πλαστικό, σύμβολο μιας κουλτούρας που χαρακτηρίζεται από υπερκατανάλωση και εύκολη αντικατάσταση, συναντά την “ανάγκη” για αθανασία και αιώνια νεότητα. Πλαστικές κούκλες – sex toys, κούκλες που παράγονται μαζικά και καταναλώνονται με τον ίδιο τρόπο με στόχο την άμεση και εύκολη ικανοποίηση, χρησιμοποιούνται εδώ για να φετιχοποιηθεί το αψεγάδιαστο και η ‘αιώνια’ ομορφιά, ενώ η λέξη ‘πλαστικό’ ισορροπεί ανάμεσα στον αισθητικό όρο και στο φτηνό υλικό.

Against the trend of the time, for a more ecological – eco friendly – thinking, behaviour and consciousness, For cancel, focus separately and collectively on the concepts of plastic and immortality and create the project ‘Go plastic! Be immortal!’.
Plastic, a symbol of a culture characterized by overconsumption and easy replacement, meets the ‘need’ for immortality and eternal youth. Plastic dolls – sex toys, dolls mass-produced and consumed in the same way for instant and easy gratification, are used here to fetishize flawlessness and ‘eternal’ beauty, while the word ‘plastic’ balances between the aesthetic term and the cheap material.

Zoi Pirini is an artist who lives and works in Athens and Loutraki, Greece.
She is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts (Athens 2003).
From 2003 to 2013, she has been working with the concept of Lighting design (visual and architectural), having carried out studies and projects in Greece and abroad. In 2011 she founded Lab2Art, an art school  which she runs until today. She is a member of the artistic group ”For Cancel”, founder of Festivart and co-founder of the artistic | research platform “TILT platform”. In 2020 she designs the educational platform “futureboards” which will be implemented in 2021 with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Education of Greece.
She is a member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts.

Zoi, uses a variety of expressive media, such as painting, photography, video, sculpture, etc. while processing her works.
