Το lick είναι μια γλυπτική εγκατάσταση με μικτά μέσα: πηλό, video, και έτοιμα υλικά. Ένα διχασμένο σώμα: σύγχρονο – αρχετυπικό και ταυτόχρονα υβριδικό σε σχέση με τα υλικά και το φύλο, θωπεύεται από μια γιγάντια γλώσσα. Το έργο αυτό εν μέσω της πανδημίας, όπου οι επαφές, και ιδίως αυτές με το σάλιο, αποθαρρύνονται ή και απαγορεύονται, προβάλει την σχεδόν προκλητική επαφή με την γλώσσα σαν εμμονική πράξη, και ταυτόχρονα σαν γκροντέσκ εικόνα. Ένας ονειρικός συμβολισμός που με την επανάληψή του (την ακούραστη επανάληψη της κίνησης της γλώσσας) γίνεται ζωτικός ρυθμικός παλμός, ζωοδόχος. Η μολυσματικότητα αποδίδεται σαν έκρηξη ζωής σαν διαμόρφωση, σαν η γλώσσα- όψιμος γλύπτης να διαμορφώνει το σώμα και το σώμα, ο κορμός με τα πολλά ζουμερά βυζιά, τρέφει-ξεδιψάει με την σειρά του την γλώσσα. Αυτή η “ανταποδοτικότητα” είναι υπεύθυνη για την ισορροπία του συστήματος. Δεν είναι απλά ότι το μολυσματικό στοιχείο δεν εξολοθρεύει τον ξενιστή του για να μην, με την σειρά του, εξαφανισθεί, αλλά για μια γνήσια συνύπαρξη, γιαυτό και το γιγάντιο μέγεθος της γλώσσας. Το lick δεν αφορά μονάχα το σώμα, λειτουργεί επίσης σαν μια μεταφορά. Ο (για μερικούς) αηδιαστικός χαρακτήρας του, επισημαίνει το γεγονός της ολοένα απομάκρυνσης μας από την σωματικότητα.
LICK” is a sculptural installation with mixed media: clay, video, and ready-made materials. A divided body: contemporary – archetypal and at the same time hybrid in terms of materials and gender, is veiled by a giant tongue. This work in the midst of a pandemic, where contact, especially that with saliva, is discouraged or even forbidden, projects the almost provocative contact with language as an obsessive act, and at the same time as a grotesque image. A dreamlike symbolism that, with its repetition (the tireless repetition of the movement of the tongue) becomes a vital rhythmic pulse, life-giving. The infectiousness is rendered as an explosion of life as a shaping, as if the tongue- late sculptor shapes the body and the body, the torso with its many breasts, in turn nourishes-unfolds the tongue. This “reciprocity” is responsible for the balance of the system. It is not simply that the contaminant does not annihilate its host so that it, in turn, does not disappear, but for a genuine coexistence, hence the gigantic size of the tongue. The lick is not only about the body, it also functions as a metaphor. Its (for some) disgusting character points to the fact of our increasing distance from corporeality.
